Following the minimalist concept and the multimedia trend on the market today, Intel is planning to combine the desktop and laptop CPUs into one. As a result, one CPU can be used on both desktops and laptops.
Due to the low wattage consumption and low heat dissipation nature of laptop CPUs, there are many advantages to be had if they are installed into desktop systems. Using laptop CPUs in desktops would dramatically decrease the power consumption of the system, the system would run much cooler than before, and the computer would run nearly silent. The embedded system such as Mobile on Desktop (MoDT) concept is quickly becoming the new wave and trend of interest.
After releasing two AMD Turion 64 coolers, Thermaltake is more experienced in the field and knows exactly what to do for the Intel embedded system coolers. First, the all-copper and brazed CL-P0279 utilizes a 4010 fan to dissipate the heat from the CPU. The second cooler is an all-aluminum cooler, the CL-P0281.
The CL-P0279 and CL-P0281 both utilize back plate and spring mounting mechanism to mount the coolers securely onto the CPU surface. The result of the mounting mechanism is that users will never need to worry about another incomplete surface contact with the CPU and experiencing hot temperatures.
Both of these Thermaltake coolers are designed specifically for the laptop CPUs used on desktop computer systems. Thermaltake believes firmly that these coolers will assist the CPUs in achieving better performance in the future.
